Have Yourself A Crafty Little Christmas

One of the things I love most in the world is art.  When I was a little girl I wanted to be an art teacher.  I remember my art teacher in my sophomore year in high school told me I was too shy to be a teacher.  He would be quite surprised to find out that this year I am co-leading the organization of the third creative event at Revolution Church of Kentucky.  In 2012 we had an Art Show in May and a Craft Fair in December.  This year we decided to combine the best of two worlds into, "Have Yourself a Crafty Little Christmas!"  It is on Friday, December 13, 2013 from 6:30 to 9:00.


Our past events have been filled with some EXTREMELY talented artists and craftspeople.

I did revert back to that shy girl at my first art show several years ago, but it was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had.  If you have a gift, you should share it with the world. You never know when what you think is just "okay" will turn into someone's treasure.  It is one of the most inspiring/humbling things to know something of yours is hanging or being cherished in someone's home.  I highly recommend it.

The Girl (With a Chronic Medical Condition) Who Went Up a Hill and Came Down a Traithlete.

I finally did it.  Something that I desperately wanted to do last year, but was too scared to do.  Was lacking the self confidence to do.  And basically too chicken to do.  I signed up for a triathlon.  The emotions leading up to that fateful task of entering your credit card number and hitting submit were a bit of a roller coaster.  It seemed like for every reason I came up with that I could do it, my mind would dredge up a reason why I couldn't.  The main one being that big fat "I" that was stamped on my head...okay, well actually bladder, but you get what I am saying.  Over six years ago I was diagnosed with a condition called interstitial cystitis (IC).  It's kind of a difficult condition to explain, but I recently read a blogger called "Pretty With Pelvic Pain that explained it pretty well.  Basically the blogger says that when you have IC your bladder bleeds.  The pressure, the pain, the burning and my new best friend, blad...

Goodbye Ezraela Eaven Inman (12.31.2013), Momma Loves You.

Last night, January 3, 2014, I said goodbye to my sweet baby girl, Ezraela Eaven.  Ezraela meaning “God is my help”, Eaven meaning “fair radiance”.  I only carried her in my belly (as my 2 ½ year old, Alexandria, would say) for 18 weeks, but to me, her mother, it might as well have been an eternity.    I remember the day I took the pregnancy test that told me she was there.  I remember the tears of joy that streamed down my face.  We kept the news of her quiet for quite some time because we were afraid that we would lose her.   My first visit to the nurse midwife was riddled with anticipation and anxiety.  I was afraid they would tell me the tests I took had been wrong, but because of spotting and cramping they did an ultrasound.  That day I truly fell in love with that little blob on the screen.  I was only 10 weeks along, but she was mine.   10 Week Ultrasound My second visit was more of ...
